Artificial intelligence (AI) across telco enterprises can help unlock tremendous business value but requires a shift from scattered and bespoke pilots to creating and scaling AI.
AI at scale typically involves robust and scalable technology, strong integration processes to embed AI into business functions, an agile way of working and empowering people with relevant data, and most importantly an operational environment where AI models are continuously served, monitored, and optimized and retrained under a governance regime. However, communications service providers (CSPs), digital service providers (DSPs) (and enterprises in general) struggle to scale and operationalize AI, i.e., create an AI factory. Many attempts remain stuck in pilots or at best remain as isolated successes.
