What is the main problem you have identified?
CSPs understand the benefits of Autonomous Networks but want practical implementations and solution that are multi-vendor using open interfaces. Autonomous systems are governed according to specified objectives – known as intents. Intent-driven closed control loops that work inside autonomous domains and across the 3 layers of the TM Forum AN Reference architecture are the focus area of this catalyst. This catalyst will develop Intent Interfaces and models that work at all 3 layers – intents at the business layer, which will get cascaded down to the service, and resource layers. The project accelerates the intent elaboration work at TM Forum, and also demonstrates zero-touch customer experience and self-healing and self-optimization capabilities within autonomous domains. This catalyst will deliver a detailed scenario (such as C-V2X Services) that will showcase how real intent implementation decouples the layers and allows for better optimization of services and resources according to CSP defined business objectives
Who is affected most by this problem?
Do you have an idea what could help solve the problem?
The solution to the problem is to first define intent interfaces that fully embrace the two key characteristics of the intent concept: expressivity and negotiation. Secondly, we need those interfaces to be open, standard interfaces that encourage a consistent method of implementation. The Autonomous Networks architecture promotes principles of autonomy and collaboration to create a scalable multi-domain approach. Cooperation between domains will use the prototypes and specifications for Intent Management APIs and Control Loop APIs. The Catalyst will contribute its work directly onto the TM Forum Open API program as input to that standardization process of Intent APIs.
How will the success of the solution be measured?
