Overview:
This Phase 2 Catalyst envisions how Autonomous Networks (AN) can create disruptive services that are completely autonomous and designed for zero-fault operations with auto-scaling based on customer expectations.
The project will design, build and prototype different types of value-generating services for cities, entertainment, and industry leveraging Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) and Open RAN to enable a complete AN framework stack. It also aims to define and implement domains and use cases to validate elements of AN hyperloops.
Phase 2 focuses on an “AN mobile edge vision” that includes the MEC application domain, Open RAN connectivity domain as well as network slice management.
Following the Covid-19 pandemic, which disrupted businesses and daily lives, AN can help businesses to operate in the “new normal” across many sectors, such as entertainment and city public services. AN platforms and infrastructure at the mobile edge enable communications service providers (CSPs) to provide connectivity and application delivery to specific vertical sectors. Leveraging AN, CSPs can ensure business service continuity, enable on-demand services and create new service experiences for customers.
