This Catalyst will demonstrate how to configure, orchestrate and assure the quality of service (QoS) of 5G network slices providing a cloud native experience and simplifying how communications service providers (CSPs) interact with business-to-business clients to meet their requirements and level of services and charging and billing per use.
To do that, we show how a CSP can launch a 5G network slice-as-a-service commercial offer specific to different vertical industries' use cases and how its performance requirements can be mapped to instantiate the most suitable network slice.
This approach is only possible by leveraging new network technologies, such as network virtualization, network sharing managed by blockchain, functional disaggregation, Control Plane and User Plane separation, Edge Computing converging in the same cloud environment fixed NF (dissagregated vOLTs and vBNG) and mobile NF (5G O-RAN and 5G) and demonstrating how traditional central office can be re-architectured as a datacenter or cloud central office.
